Contains the following type of materials: photographs. Covers the following wars and time period: Mexican Border Disturbance, World War I (WWI), World War II (WWII). Contains photographs of the following military unit and organization: Pioneer Infantries, Special Services. General description of the collection: The Moses N. Thisted photograph collection includes the Army service in both world wars of Moses Thisted. He served in the Pioneer Infantry service in the American Expeditionary Forces (A.E.F.), so he collected photos of the different units; namely the 51st, 54th, 56th, 58th, 59th, 803rd, 804th, 807th Regiments. Most, if not all, of these photos, however, are already in our WWI Signal Corps collection. There are several photos of limited quality and significance from the Mexican Border service (1916-1917). There is a folder of photos showing officer training groups and locations for the Special Services Branch of the Army during WWII; several photos of Special Services officers which include famous band leader Glenn Miller.
